If someone were to say, "Think of a little German town..." This is the picture that comes to mind.
With lovely little shops and traditional German restaurants, the town is perfect for a Saturday afternoon! I was somewhat worried when I moved to Kleinhaubach that there wasn't anything to do because there aren't even any restaurants in my small "neighborhood." However, after finding out about such a cute town right next door, I'm a bit at ease because I can easily ride my bike to Miltenberg to go out to eat, shop or just hang around for a day.
Miltenberg is home to the oldest Guesthouse in Germany! The Riessen...
I was told that when you stay here you feel like you're home because of the old-German-feel the rooms are decorated in. This is definitely a must-do while I'm here!
Miltenberg is also home to the Faust Brewery and absolutely the best brew tour I've ever done! It was so casual and took us through the entire actual production... meaning, no dummy equipment was being used.
The tour started Saturday night at 8pm and ran until after 12 midnight! How fun! There was a beer at every corner and the small town feel of the group of people (who all knew each other) made the tour extra special!
As per tradition in Bavaria, the tour ended with more beers, as well as, Bavarian white sausages and pretzels! Absolutely delicious!
I never would have known about this city if I didn't move to Kleinhaubach, but I'm sure glad I did! It's almost as if Miltenberg is a secret gem of a town that you find only by chance!
I have to say, if you're in the area, check this place out for a day!
